My favorite moment: I show a design to my clients and they say, “This is exactly what we wanted, only better!” Architecture is my passion. Happy clients are my reward. I have an excellent record for staying within budget and completing my projects on a deadline. All projects are as unique as you are, but a project usually follows 3 basic Phases to completion.

Phase 1 : Design Development

We begin together by walking the land at your building site. I study the site, ask a lot of questions, and I listen. I document everything we talk about and begin to design. Soon, we share renderings of ideas and add modifications. We make important decisions. I identify the best materials available and research their qualities and applications. We can begin the Design Planning Phase.

Phase 2 : Design Planning

Exterior 3D Elevation Renderings

I begin the serious drafting of the final design plans using pencil on mylar or vellum and computer software. I share with you when there is a question. Eventually, the building design is complete and the renderings up to date. The technical details begin as we produce the Construction Plan Set.

Phase 3 : Construction Planning

Building Section & Floor Plan

Plan Sets include 11″ by 17″ Bid Sets and 24″x 36″ Construction Plans, or larger if necessary. Paper prints are charged as additional at cost. Digital files are included in delivery. A Construction Plan Set is composed of floor plans, dimensions, sections, elevations, details, electrical, plumbing, windows, doors, engineer notes, and general specs. This might occupy roughly 10 to 25 sheets. A number of intermediate design renderings will be exchanged by paper and internet as we communicate about the design ideas and work together. A plan is your contract with the builder and the goal of your investment. You will need the plans for a building permit, cost estimates, loan approval, materials purchases, and for the builder to assemble your dream house. You recieve a thumb drive copy of your PDF plan files. Print as many as you need.
